Digital Roots worked with youth in five indigenous communities in rural Oaxaca, Mexico to develop photographic essays about local history and culture, which were displayed in community museums. The youth were taught how to use digital cameras, develop photo essays and encouraged to explore their cultures. The digital equipment was left in the communities for future use upon the complication of the project, which was conducted in conjunction with La Unión de Museos Comunitarios de Oaxaca and Kalamazoo College.
